The space
The cozy studio includes a full bed (for two) and full bath. It does not have a kitchen, but we provide coffee/tea service to help you start your day. The carriage house is light filled, but has blinds for privacy, or for when you need to turn in for the night. Quality sheets, bedding, & toiletries are provided.
The air conditioning/heater is virtually silent and can be programmed to your desired temperature.
***Please note that the patio and grill are not available for guests unless specifically agreed in advance with the host.***
Guest access
Our home is contactless seamless and easy self check in. A code will be set for you and shared 48 hours before your arrival. At Sojourn we take your happiness and comfort seriously. No request is too big or too small for our team and we strive to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Don't hesitate to ask.
Other things to note
We are looking forward to hosting you but there are a few things you need to do in order to make sure that you, and all of our guests, are safe and that everyone can enjoy their respective stays! This message also includes other useful information about pets, baby gear and parking:
1) Our properties are protected by SUPERHOG. Please note that if you book a short-term rental (under 30 days), you will be contacted by SUPERHOG directly to verify yourself. Please make sure this is completed prior to check-in.
2) Please confirm that you accept the following House Rules and Responsibilities on behalf of yourself and guests. A violation of the House Rules can result in an immediate termination of your reservation without refund.
For the comfort of our guests, residents and members of the Sojourn team, smoking of any kind (marijuana, cigarettes, or vaping) is not permitted anywhere in the interior of our building or within fifty (50) feet of our building, including outdoor spaces. Should our team or neighbors report the odor of smoke we will contact the booking service, terminate your stay, claim any and all damages, including but not limited to a $500 smoking fee, and post the appropriate review.
Parties and events are strictly prohibited. All Sojourn homes are equipped with noise monitoring devices (decibel readers), your privacy is safe however, noise levels exceeding normal levels are grounds for ending your stay and are strictly enforced. In the event we are notified of any excess noise, music, gathering or parties a Sojourn representative will respond and your reservation will be terminated without refund. Please also note that all Sojourn buildings and homes are equipped with some type of exterior camera that records the exterior and common areas to include all entries to the building.
What NOT to Flush Down the Toilet or put down drains or in the garbage disposal - If found that these cause plumbing issues Sojourn can and will charge the guest.
* Cooking Grease/Food/Coffee grinds should never be poured down any drain, period.
* Feminine Products. Tampons and other feminine hygiene products are not supposed to be flushed down the toilet.

3) If you are booking a flat that allows pets the pet fee is $75 per pet per week. We welcome dogs under 40 lbs. No Cats
4) We are happy to provide both a Pack and Play and/or high chair. These must be reserved in advance and a $25 rental fee will be charged.
5) If you are booking a flat in Washington DC, please inquire about advanced parking pass reservations.
6) There may be times where the home needs unexpected, or scheduled preventative maintenance. While we do our best not to interrupt your stay with us, sometimes this cannot be avoided thus Sojourn reserves the right to gain access to the properties at any time, after providing our guests with 24 hour written notice.
7) This home does not have a kitchen nor a kitchenette.
8) The hosts live on the property so you may occasionally see them or their two young boys.
9) Patio use is exclusively for the home owners. We ask guests to please refrain from using the patio.View More

The carriage home is in a convenient location, but there are some notable drawbacks to the stay. The room is quite small, which may not be ideal for two people, as the space feels very confined. Basic tasks like getting in and out of bed, showering, and dressing are challenging due to the limited space. We found ourselves spending most of our time outside, as the accommodations are best suited for sleeping only.
Additionally, we encountered a surprising number of insects shortly after our arrival. Within the first five minutes, we had to eliminate several bugs, including mosquitoes, with two of appearing while we were in bed.Show more Paul & Lynne

Bartley was great at communicating and gave clear directions for finding the unit. The location was perfect for us since we were visiting family nearby - the metro is just a few minutes walk and the Roost, Safeway, and other shops are easy walking distance. The room itself: Bartley has made very good use of the space, but there’s no denying it’s very small. There’s just room for the bed and a small table, and the bathroom is also tight. The bed is comfortable though and there were nice toiletries and a Nespresso machine.Show more Katharina

We stayed at Bartley’s carriage house for 10 days and had a wonderful experience. Communication with Bartley was effortless; he was incredibly helpful and always responded within a very short timeframe. The carriage house is situated in a safe neighborhood, just a 5-minute walk from a metro station and conveniently located across from a large supermarket. The place was very clean, and the interior design is stylish.
One downside was the lack of a wardrobe, which was somewhat inconvenient given the small size of the room; living out of a suitcase was not ideal. It would be great if the table could be replaced with a wardrobe to enhance storage space.

Responsive host. Fair price. Very minimalistic but nicely appointed. Quiet. Do not recommend a night check in. A bit challenging to locate after dark. Have a flashlight ready or iPhone light on.Show more
